Lyngby, Denmark – March 25, 2015 – CytoTrack today announced the launch of its CT11™ scanner with integrated CytoPicker™. It will be showcased at the 7th International Conference of Contemporary Oncology: Personalized Cancer Medicine and Big Data Analysis, part of the "Cancer – a challenge of the 21st century" series, in Poznań, Poland, 25-27th March 2015, Poland.

CytoTrack is a novel scanning and imaging concept bridging flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy. Alongside enumeration, a map of each CTC facilitates downstream biomarker analysis for characterization of the individual CTCs. Biomarker analysis may be performed either directly on individual CTCs or individual CTCs may be collected using the novel proprietary CytoPicker™ that is integrated in the new CT11™.

"We are proud to offer the cancer research community a compact and universal system for CTC enumeration and characterization" said Tom Hede Markussen, CEO of CytoTrack. "The CT11 allow individual CTC to be analyzed for a variety of cancer biomarkers using a variety of techniques, such as but not limited to immunofluorescence (IF), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and next generation sequencing (NSG)" Markussen concluded.

Today, in vitro diagnostic cancer tests are predominantly performed on primary tumor tissue, whereas patients with relapse ultimately suffer from the direct sequelae of the metastatic lesions, which due tumor heterogeneity and genomic instability may have other biomarker profile. Analyzing circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a surrogate for the metastatic lesion may improve treatment decisions and patient outcome.

"The CytoPicker™ will allow us to extend our CTC analysis capabilities for the benefit for both our internal biomarker research and for our laboratory service to clinical studies" said Georg Sölétormos, MD, DMSc, Chief Physician, CTC Center of Excellence, Nordsjællands Hospital, Hillerød, Denmark.
